Gunotsav - celebrating quality

Gunotsav is an effort of Government of Assam to track the performance of every child in elementary level, assess their individual learning gap and devise remedial measures to be taken for their improvement. It is an accountability framework for improving quality of Elementary Education which includes learning outcomes of children along with co-scholastic activities and use of resources including community participation.

Scope/ Target: Under Gunotsav, initially the Govt/ Prov/ Tea Garden Managed Elementary Schools of eight districts i.e. Barpeta, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Kamrup(M), Lakhimpur, Morigaon & West Karbi Anglong have been planned for coverage in the 1st phase. In this phase to be conducted in five mediums viz. Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, Hindi and English each child from Class II-VIII will be assessed under various parameters.

The Structure:
Government of Assam has constituted an Apex Committee to provide guidance and adopt policies for the preliminary activities and conduct of subsequent events under "Gunotsav" as mentioned below.
