The teacher rendering outstanding meritorious service are given public recognition by conferring national award by the Union Government and State Award by the state Government.
With a view to get optimum utilization of their excellent service, the Government of Assam is pleased to introduce the following scheme for re-employment of the teacher having been conferred with the National/ State Award for their outstanding contribution in the realm of education subject to physical fitness, mental alertness and willingness to work beyond date of superannuation as per Govt. Office Memorandum ASE.232/2008/232, dtd. 16th July 2012.
The teacher conferred with National Award shall be re-employed for a maximum period of two years beyond date of superannuation or till attaining the age of sixty two year whichever is earlier.
The teacher conferred with State Award shall be re-employed for a maximum period of one year beyond date of superannuation or till attaining the age of sixty two year whichever is earlier.
The process for nomination of elementary teacher for National Award will be as per Government of India norms.
The State awards will be restricted to 17 teachers for elementary education in a year covering all district including 6th schedule and BTAD area districts
